Analysis: Several surprises in nominated posts in AP!

As many as 135 posts of various corporation chairpersons, directors of various government undertakings and other nominated posts were filled up with the YSR Congress party leaders, who have been waiting for the posts for quite long time.

But announcement of several nominated posts, caste-wise and gender-wise, generated a lot of surprise and interesting debate in the social media. It appears appointments were made for many posts which are yet to be created.

Take for instance, appointments were made for the posts of Rajahmundry Smart City Corporation, which is non-existing.

“Where is this corporation and where do the newly-appointed chairman and directors take charge? Moreover, Rajahmundry is not the only smart city in AP. What about Eluru, Guntur, Ongole and Nellore, which are also designated as smart cities? Don’t they need corporations?” a social media post commented.

Similarly, the government also nominated chairman for Yeleshwaram Development Board, which is also non-existing. Yeleshwaram is just a Nagar Panchayat in East Godavari district and one wonders why there is an exclusive board for its development. Even if one assumes it is the Yeleshwaram Reservoir Development Board, nobody knows where it is.

While many trusted loyalists of Jagan and the YSRC had been waiting for the nominated posts, the appointment of Dwarampudi Bhaskar Reddy, father of Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, as the chairman of AP Civil Supplies Corporation, caused a lot of heartburn among the party leaders.

Similarly, another leader Bonthu Rajeshwar Rao, who lost the elections twice from Razole, has been appointed as advisor of Rural Water Supply mission. If one such department has advisor, what about other departments, ask the party leaders.

There are many such discrepancies in the nominated posts list. Maybe, Jagan will create the new corporations to justify the appointments and rectify the mistakes in the list.

In any case, nobody knows what powers these newly nominated leaders will have and what financial benefits they would get.
