Adi Under Pressure To Contest From Kadapa

Andhra Pradesh minister for cooperation C Adinarayana Reddy is said to be under tremendous pressure to shift from his Jammalamadugu assembly constituency to Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming general elections.

According to party sources, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu called a meeting of Adinarayana Reddy and agriculture minister and in-charge of Kadapa Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy to discuss the candidates for the ensuing elections to the assembly as well as Lok Sabha.

He is learnt to have identified the candidates who could guarantee victory in the elections.

In the process, he reportedly asked Adinarayana Reddy to shift to Kadapa in the wake of negative feedback against him in Jammalamadugu, where his rival P Ramasubba Reddy enjoys public support.

He made an appeal to Adinarayana Reddy to cooperate with the party and help the victory of all the contestants chosen by him.

“I know who is better suited to contest in the elections. I will be announcing the contestants in the next four days. Names of contestants in all ten constituencies of the district will be announced at one go,” he said.

After the meeting, Adinarayana Reddy told media that he was ready to contest as an MP candidate from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.

“I will abide by Naidu’s decision. But given an opportunity, I will prefer to contest from Jammalamagudu again,” he said.

He ruled out changing the candidature of Mydukuru assembly constituency from where TTD chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav would fight elections this time.
