ABV targets Jagan, says won't leave anyone!

Hours after the Supreme Court cancelling his suspension and ordering the Andhra Pradesh government to reinstate him in the service, senior IPS officer and former state intelligence chief A B Venkateshwar Rao launched a tirade against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Venkateshwara Rao alleged that some officials in the government had gone overboard to target him only to see happiness in the eyes of a “psycho.”

He said the then chief secretary had suspended him within 24 hours based on a forged memo given by a Director General of Police and a fabricated report submitted by an additional DG of the Crime Investigation Department.

“How can there be any corruption, when there was no procurement of any equipment, said to have been bought from Israel? Nobody questioned it. When I repeatedly brought this to the notice of the government, nobody was bothered,” Venkateshwara Rao said.

He said he had used all the legal opportunities he had come out of the case.

“My pleas were upheld by the high court and the Supreme Court. Now, let them answer who was responsible for the loss of face for the Andhra government in the Supreme Court? Who have done all these to please which psycho?” he asked.

The former intelligence chief said the government had paid Rs 20 lakh as fee to senior advocate Prakash Reddy to argue against him in the lower court. Later, it spent crores of rupees in fighting the case in the high court and Supreme Court.

“Who gave them power to spend so much public money and bring bad name to the government?” he asked.

Stating that he too had to spend some money on lawyers to argue his case, Venkateshwar Rao said he would ask the government to pay equal amount of court fee which it had spent against him in various courts.

“I have seen at least 10-12 batches of IAS officers during my tenure. Many chief secretaries have come and gone. But I am local. I will not leave anybody to go scot free,” he challenged.
