Kiran Abbavaram has recently had a couple of flops. He mentioned that he is acting in this fun entertainer to get his career back on track. "Sammohanuda" song from this film went viral, and Neha Sshetty's glamour contributed to the film's buzz.
Has the movie lived up to the buzz?
Story:
Mano Ranjann (Kiran Abbavaram), a Tirupati native, takes a job as a software engineer at a Mumbai firm. He lives a rigid lifestyle and secretly admires his college beauty Sana (Neha Sshetty). Four years later, he runs into her again in Mumbai. They meet and become friends. She soon discovers his feelings for her.
She leaves for Tirupathi after spending a day with him without giving him her phone number. Mano Ranjann goes to Tirupathi to find her. Will he ever meet and marry her?
Artistes’ Performances:
Kiran Abbavaram looks good in the early scenes. But his character's graph and performance become monotonous as the proceedings progress.
Neha Shetty is given a modern character. Except in one song, she's not that impressive.
Vennela Kishore, who plays the lecherous co-director working in Mumbai film industry, has a lengthy role, but his humour falls flat. His adult jokes are of cheap quality.
Ajay and Subbaraju get to play ridiculous characters. Hyper Aadi, Viva Harsha, and Sudarshan play usual comedic roles that don't provide any laughs.
Technical Excellence:
The song "Sammohanuda" from the film went viral much before its release. The only good number in this film was this sizzling song shot on Neha Sshetty. Amrish's music is mediocre save from this song.
The cinematography is functional. The film's editor appears to have dozed off at the editing table, as numerous sequences drag on indefinitely. The dialogue is very bad.

Analysis
In the final episode of "Rules Ranjann," Hyper Aadhi, Sudharshan, and Harsha proclaim that they've had enough of watching this and urge everyone to leave the venue. Even before the intermission, the audience had the same feeling. Hyper Adhi may have become bored towards the end of this story, but we as viewers get bored throughout the film because every sequence is downright ridiculous.
Clearly, the director has no idea how a software firm operates. Who gets hired as a software programmer if he doesn't know the difference between a computer file and a paper file?
When the hero picks up a paper file when his colleague asks him to access a file on his desktop, the filmmaker must have thought it was a funny sequence. And this so-called software engineer rescues the team from embarrassment, and even his boss (played by famed Bollywood actor Annu Kapoor), security guard, and other employees follow whatever ridiculous office rules he imposes. How silly?
Furthermore, a beggar at the railway station (played by Makrand Desphande) does not thank the hero even when he gives him money because the hero, like him, is still unmarried. Rathinam Krishna created better scenes years ago than he does now.
The hero even puts regulations in his apartment society and expects his neighbor to follow them. All of these scenes are part of the process of building the "Rules Ranjann" character. Vennela Kishore's comedy track as a co-director is cringeworthy. The entire first half is a mess.
We get to view the card that says "party" starts now at the interval bang. But there is no party. Instead, the absurd comedy and ludicrous moments continue. The main difference is that the action moves from Mumbai to rural Tirupathi. And new characters such as Harsha, Sudharshan, and Hyper Adhi appear, mouthing outdated comedic banter.
The much-hyped song “Sammohanuda” only appears at the far end of the story.
Kiran Abbavaram should stop doing these kinds of silly movies. He has already tasted many flops.
Overall, 'Rules Ranjann' contains outdated sequences, archaic comic lines, and sleep-inducing moments.
