The YSR commemoration meeting being held by Y S Vijayalakshmi, mother of YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, at Hyderabad on Thursday evening is expected to see who’s who of the political and celebrity circle.
Vijayalakshmi is learnt to have invited as many as 300 guests for the meeting at HICC hall no. 4 near Hotel Novotel in Madhapur.
There would be as many as 30 speakers on the dais, as per the organisers. Former personal assistant of YSR Bhaskar Sharma is said to be coordinating with the guests attending the meeting.
Sources said the invitees include Telugu film celebrities like megastar Chiranjeevi, senior actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, yesteryear’s superstar Krishna and producer Dil Raju.
Revolutionary singer Gaddar and retired judge Sudershan Reddy have also been invited for the meeting, they said.
Former Congress ministers like Sabitha Indra Reddy, Sunitha Laxma Reddy and Danam Nagender, who are presently in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi are also among the invitees, but it is highly unlikely that they would attend the meeting as they have all left for New Delhi to take part in the TRS office foundation stone laying ceremony by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also got the invite, but since he is closer to KCR, he expressed his regrets for not able to attend the meeting.
Similarly, former minister D K Aruna and ex-MP A P Jitender Reddy, who were also close to YSR, got the calls from Vijayalakshmi. But they are also unlikely to attend the meeting, as they are presently in the BJP.
So is the case with former YSR cabinet colleagues like Dharmana Prasada Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana and Balineni Srinivas Reddy, who are now in the YSR Congress party. They cannot attend the meeting without the consent of Jagan.
However, Congress leaders like Komatireddy brothers, K Jana Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha, J Geetha Reddy, M Bhatti Vikramarka and D Sridhar Babu, who were close followers of YSR, might turn up for the event, sources said.
While Vijayalakshmi is learnt to have requested YSR’s close friend K V P Ramachandra Rao to attend as a special invitee, others like Vundavalli Arun Kumar and Lagadapati Rajagopal may not attend, sources added.
