Why is Naidu silent on rap from HC?

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has been crying from roof tops over the alleged implication of his party leaders in false cases by the YSR Congress party leaders, has gone silent on the serious comments made by the state high court in a public interest litigation case against him.

The high court was listening to a petition filed by a social activist on the misuse of public money to the tune of Rs 10 crore on conducting a meeting in New Delhi in the name of Dharma Porata Deeksha on February 11 this year, for which he had taken thousands of people in trains and his party leaders on flights.

The high court wondered how Naidu could spend Rs 10 crore from the state exchequer for a political agitation against the NDA government headed by Narendra Modi on the allegations of denying special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

The high court observed that similar agitations were conducted in all the districts by spending public money. Since the expenditure was incurred by the government, it asked the present YSRC government, not Naidu, to give an explanation.

However, Naidu remained silent on the high court observations, though he has been reacting on every other issue concerning the YSRC government, including Amaravati and Polavaram.

Information minister Perni Nani said Naidu, who had spent huge amount of public money to abuse Modi and BJP leaders, was now shamelessly praising Home Minister Amit Shah and wishing him on his birthday.

“After criticising the Prime Minister, Naidu is saying it was a mistake to fight with the Modi government. He has been always committing mistakes and later tendering an apology,” Nani said.
