US: OG Slows Down, Misses $5M Opening Weekend

Trade pundits had expected Pawan Kalyan to join the elite club of Indian stars with a $5 million opening weekend in North America with OG, especially after its strong premiere collections.

With over $3 million coming just from premieres, experts predicted it would easily hit $5.5 million over the weekend.

However, the momentum dropped sharply, and the film couldn’t touch the $5 million mark within the opening weekend. It will eventually cross that figure, but it needs another day.

OG grossed $4.9 million in its opening weekend — the highest in Pawan Kalyan’s career and a new personal record — making it a profitable venture for the overseas distributor. But it missed the milestone of a $5 million opening weekend.

By Saturday, the film had collected $4.71 million, and it added another $200K+ on Sunday, taking the cumulative total to $4.9 million. It is expected to enter the $5M club on Monday.

On the other hand, Mirai has crossed the $3 million mark by the end of its 17-day run — a massive success for Teja Sajja.
