Promotional activities for Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life in Telugu have gained momentum ever since N Sudhakar Reddy of Sreshth Movies acquired the rights.
The team held a grand pre-release event in Vizag, attended by Kamal Haasan, Simbu, Trisha, and several others.
Trisha expressed her joy at collaborating with Kamal Haasan for the fourth time, stating that she hopes to be remembered as Indrani after the film's release.
Simbu shared his special connection with Vizag and once again revealed that he lent his voice for a song in Pawan Kalyan’s OG.
Kamal Haasan reflected on how people used to mistake him as a Vizag native. He noted that many films shot in the city have gone on to become major hits.
“For me, Kala (art) is my Kshetra (sacred space),” Kamal said. “I’ve made many mistakes in my career. You forgave my bad films and remembered me for the good ones. I’ve done around 15–16 straight Telugu films, and 13 of them were hits. Now, I’m making amends for my lesser works, repaying those debts by doing good cinema. Thug Life is one such film.”
He also praised STR’s performance, calling it his best to date. “Abhirami plays my wife in the film. You’ll find something to enjoy in every frame. Trisha’s character is also quite unique.”
Sudhakar Reddy promised to bring Kamal Haasan back to Vizag for the film’s success celebration.
