Terrible Films Sometimes Make A Lot Of Money

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta recently expressed his opinion that box-office numbers should not be the sole criteria for judging the quality of a film.

He highlighted that sometimes even terrible films make a lot of money, and instead, the focus should be on whether the film was worth the price of the ticket.

Mehta also questioned why people watch films to earn money, and suggested that it was not their concern to be involved in a film's business.

In his own words- "Terrible films sometimes make a lot of money...Focus on whether the film was worth the price of your ticket," he added.

"Do you watch a film to earn money? Then what do you have to do with its business?" Mehta told a Twitter user.

Taking Mehta's comments into consideration, it is worth noting that recent films such as Pathan, Waltair Veerayya, and Veera Simha Reddy made significant profits despite having subpar storylines and content.

Meanwhile, films with rich content often do not perform well at the box office but go on to become long-lasting classics.

It is crucial to understand that a film's box-office success is not always indicative of its artistic merit or entertainment value.

Many films that may not have fared well commercially have received critical acclaim and even gone on to become cult classics.

This is an everlasting phenomenon in Indian film industry.
