Suriya has recently signed a new Telugu film, marking his return to Telugu cinema after a long hiatus.
His first Telugu project was Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra, and he is now set to collaborate with director Venky Atluri for his next venture.
The film’s shooting is scheduled to begin soon. In preparation, Suriya has reportedly put some of his other Tamil projects, including Vaadivaasal directed by Vetrimaaran, on hold to prioritize this Telugu film.
Sources suggest he has more confidence in Venky Atluri’s script than in his current Tamil commitments.
The story centers around the cultural significance and widespread popularity of the Maruti car in India. Known for directing films based on real-life stories, Venky Atluri previously delivered hits like Sir and Lucky Baskhar.
Suriya, who earned critical acclaim and a National Award for his role in Soorarai Pottru — a film based on the true story of India’s first low-cost airline — is now turning his full attention to Telugu cinema with this promising new project.
