Until a week ago, Telugu film producers were busy holding discussions with streaming companies to sell off OTT rights. But now, they are forced to drop such plans.
Theater owners have requested the producers not to opt for OTT until October 30. So, several filmmakers are renegotiating with the streaming companies.
Sundeep Kishan’s “Gully Rowdy” is one such film. The makers of the film had initiated discussions with a streaming company for direct-digital release. But now Sundeep Kishan says the film will hit in the theaters only.
“Gully Rowdy is a Fun Masala Entertainer meant for the theatres... We know these are uncertain times but as a team stand by the theatres owners & wait for the right release date,” he wrote on social media.
