After the record-breaking success of Pushpa 2, Sukumar has firmly cemented his place among the top directors of Indian cinema.
His production banner, Sukumar Writings, also recently completed a decade.
But with Sukumar’s methodical style, which is taking nearly three years to write, direct, and fine-tune a single film, he is unable to deliver more projects as a director.
To compensate, Sukumar now plans to produce more films, nurturing ideas from his own story bank and supporting projects helmed by his associates.
Industry buzz suggests that Sukumar is negotiating a deal with Netflix to bankroll about half a dozen films under his banner.
A few of his protégés have already begun working on scripts that may take shape through this collaboration.
Sukumar’s wife Tabitha and his brothers, who are deeply involved in his financial and production matters, will continue to play a key role in steering Sukumar Writings as it expands.
Sukumar is currently working on a story suitable for making a film with Ram Charan. Along with that, he is also busy with the projects of his disciples.
