Skanda: Is It Sentiment or Fear of Backlash?

Boyapati Srinu's upcoming movie, "Skanda," featuring Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela, is one of the most highly anticipated films. It is scheduled for a grand release on September 15.

The non-theatrical revenue for the film has been tremendous. However, there are reports that the producers are opting not to organize premiere shows in the United States.

Boyapati's previous film, "Akhanda," enjoyed significant success at the U.S. box office. Nevertheless, Boyapati has chosen not to arrange premieres for "Skanda."

The rationale behind this decision is to ensure that the first screening aligns with the auspicious muhurtham time on September 15th in India. Consequently, the premiere shows in the USA will be canceled.

There is also speculation that Boyapati may prefer the initial "buzz" or reviews to originate from the Indian market rather than the United States.

He appears to have confidence in the greater success of his films in the Indian cinema landscape.
