September Box Office: 2 Films Made Good Fortune

September Box Office: 2 Films Made Good Fortune

With the exception of the COVID-19 impacted year, September has consistently proven to be a rewarding month for Tollywood. It reliably delivers at least one hit film.

Notably, movies like "Oke Oka Jeevitham" and "Love Story" have graced the screens in September in previous years.

It must be acknowledged that this September has also been eventful for Tollywood. Out of the 25 films released, two garnered significant attention.

"Khushi" made its debut on September 1st, featuring Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha as lead actors. The film hit theaters amidst high anticipation. Directed by Siva Nirvana, "Khushi" turned out to be a flop everywhere except in USA. But on a whole, it ended up as a loss-venture.

In the following week, "Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty" arrived in theaters along with SRK's "Jawan".

Starring Naveen Polishetty and Anushka Shetty in lead roles, the movie "Miss shetty Mr Polishetty" achieved success both internationally and domestically. Naveen Polishetty's continuous presence contributed positively to the film's performance.

Simultaneously, "Jawaan" found success in the Telugu market, particularly in semi-urban areas and multiplexes. These were the only two films that found success during that week.

In the second week, movies such as "Changure Banguraraja," "Ramanna Youth," "Anu," "Mark Antony," and "Sodara Sodharimanulara" were released, but none managed to find an audience. The re-release of "Bichchagadu" had minimal impact.

Vishal, who has been facing consecutive disappointments in Telugu cinema, continued this trend. "Mark Antony" failed to resonate in the Telugu states. Notably, "Changure Banguraraja," produced by hero Ravi Teja, was among the flops.

Even in the third week, numerous movies were released, but none of them gained significant traction. Films like "Rudramkota" and "Ashtadigbandhanam" had considerable promotions but failed to deliver at the box office. "Saptha Sagararu Daati," a super hit in Kannada, did not replicate its success in the Telugu market, despite high hopes from the People Media Banner.

To conclude September, films such as "Skanda," "Chandramukhi-2," and "Pedakapu-1" were released. Among these, "Chandramukhi-2" clearly declared as a flop. "Skanda" and "Pedakapu-1" have garnered mixed reviews, and their true performance will become evident in the coming days.
