SBSB Entire Theatrical Rights Sold For Rs 8 Cr!

SBSB Entire Theatrical Rights Sold For Rs 8 Cr!

Zee network bought the total negative rights of upcoming Sai Dharam Tej starrer Solo Brathuke So Better for a fancy price.

Zee bought the theatrical, satellite, and the streaming rights of the film bankrolled by BVSN Prasad.

Producers made handsome profits on this deal as Zee offered an attractive price amid the competition from other OTT platforms.

SBSB however is not skipping the theatrical release as Zee Studios decided to release it in theaters ahead of putting it up for streaming on Zee5.

Zee network has been waiting for the conventional distributors to come forward to buy the theatrical rights, but they didn’t get the offer they have been waiting for.

Finally, UV distributors came forward to buy the theatrical rights of SBSB for Rs 8 Cr. Zee demanded Rs 12 Cr but UV refused to increase their offer price. The deal is closed for Rs 8 Cr according to sources.

Now UV is looking to redistribute it to local distributors at Rs 10 Cr ratio. Rs 8 Cr is not even half the market value of an SDT starrer compared to his previous films.

However, nobody has a clue about how the movie fares amid corona scare and with the existing restrictions on theatrical screening.

Hence, Zee sold the theatrical rights at a throwaway price and interestingly UV is not daring to bear the entire risk as they are looking to sell its area wise distribution rights to other top players like Allu Aravind and Dil Raju.

SBSB theatrical release is kind of an experiment before a bunch of movies hit the marquee for Sankranthi.

The film is slated for release on Dec 25.
