Samantha Opens Up About Her Strict Diet

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, known for her love of food, has completely overhauled her diet in recent years to support her health.

Speaking to celebrity nutrition coach Ryan Fernando, Samantha admitted, “My diet is a bit strict,” adding that her current lifestyle is a far cry from her teenage years when she could eat anything without gaining weight.

Things changed dramatically after she was diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the muscles. Since then, she has adopted a strict anti-inflammatory diet that eliminates foods that don’t work for her.

“There are no cheat days. I don’t think I have a cheat day,” she said, emphasizing that discipline is key to managing her condition.

While others may feel sorry for her strict regimen, Samantha insists she enjoys it. “People tend to sympathise with my diet all the time! But it’s a way of life for me. I love what I eat. Ask me to eat a doughnut — no offence, but I can’t. I don’t crave such foods anymore.”

She prefers simple, organic meals with little variation. “My food is the same every single day,” she said, explaining that it helps reduce decision fatigue.

A peek into her kitchen reveals cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, healthy fats such as ghee and cold-pressed oils, turmeric, celery, and acai berries.

“You’ll never find gluten in my shopping list,” she noted. Surprisingly, she avoids spinach and kale, which don’t suit her body.

“My greatest flex is my biomarkers,” Samantha added, highlighting her commitment to health through disciplined eating, regular workouts, and conscious living.
