Salaar producers lobbying for ticket price hike!

The much-awaited release of Prabhas-starrer multilingual film “Salaar-Part 1: Ceasefire” is all set to arrive in theatre on December 22 as scheduled earlier and the trailer is expected to be out most probably on December 1.

According to sources, the producers of Salaar – Hombale Films – are lobbying with the Andhra Pradesh government for a substantial increase in theatre ticket prices to make the maximum money in the first week of its release.

It is learnt they held initial rounds of talks with state Information and Public relations and cinematography minister Chelluboyina Krishna Venugopala Srinivas and requested that the price be enhanced by at least Rs 75 per ticket for the first week.

The minister has not given any blanket assurance but told them that he would take it up with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at an appropriate time.

The latest reports indicate that the producers of Salaar have also approached the people at the helm in Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) and sought to influence the powers-that-be. There is no information about how the I-PAC people responded.

The action-thriller, directed by Prashanth Neel is creating the excitement among the masses. It has an ensemble cast, including Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jagapathi Babu.

Salaar will release on December 22nd in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu Kannada and Malayalam.
