The buzz began after the unexpected success of the Hindi film Saiyaara, which revolves around a female protagonist battling a serious illness, triggering major plot twists.
Coincidentally, Sreeleela is currently working on a film with Kartik Aaryan, and Bollywood media reports began speculating that their upcoming movie follows a similar storyline.
Rumors even claimed that Sreeleela’s character in the film suffers from a terminal illness, just like in Saiyaara.
However, director Anurag Basu has firmly denied these rumors. He clarified that his film has no connection to Saiyaara and that Sreeleela’s character does not suffer from any illness.
The film’s recent postponement had also sparked speculation that the script was being altered due to these similarities. Basu dismissed those claims as well, stating that the delay was unrelated to the storyline.
This film marks Sreeleela’s debut in Bollywood, and the director emphasized that the project is on track, with no major changes to its original vision.
