Kalki 2898 AD was released on June 27, 2024, and its second part has been in the works for quite some time.
Nearly two years have passed since the first instalment hit theatres, and fans have been eagerly awaiting an official update on the sequel.
According to industry sources, Kalki Part 2 is now expected to release in October 2027.
Although the date is tentative, the update has sparked fresh excitement among moviegoers who have been closely tracking the project since its blockbuster debut.
Meanwhile, the overseas rights of the sequel have reportedly been acquired by Phars Films of Dubai for a massive sum in the range of ₹115 crore to ₹120 crore, underlining the huge expectations surrounding the film.
The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and stars Prabhas in the lead role. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan reprises the key role of Ashwatthama.
Reports also suggest that Deepika Padukone has been replaced by Sai Pallavi, allegedly due to differences over remuneration and working-hour constraints.
The big-budget sci-fi epic is produced by C Ashwini Dutt.
