Poonam: That party is Capable of Abusing Women

Actress Poonam Kaur spoke out in support of the ongoing agitation for justice for Geethanjali, who allegedly died as a result of online trolling.

While the Andhra Pradesh government launched an inquiry, Poonam Kaur claimed that a specific party is capable of psychologically abusing women.

Without naming the party, she implied that its supporters and followers troll women on social media.

Poonam Kaur also shared her own experience. She recalled how some Pawan Kalyan fans fabricated a story about her demanding a role in the film "Jalsa" from director Trivikram.

"The #Jalsa story is a fake story planted against me, to make people believe what's not true. I have never, ever in my lifetime asked any director or actor for a role in any film. I have always sought alternate ways of living. I have rejected more films than I have accepted. Please don't believe it," she wrote.

She also urged the police and government to punish the perpetrators.

She added, "#JusticeForGeetanjali. I am confused about who led her to commit suicide, whether it's online trolls from a particular party who are truly capable of psychologically abusing a woman, or a volunteer who seems to go invisible. Please punish. Young girls deserve justice."
