Nani Defends His Choice of Violent Films

Violent films often face resistance from family audiences and close scrutiny from the censor board, which typically assigns them an 'A' certificate, warning minors to stay away.

However, actor Nani believes that not all violent films are inherently harmful.

Speaking about his upcoming film HIT 3, Nani explains that the violence in the story is not gratuitous but essential to the narrative.

He dismisses the idea that he is choosing action-heavy or violent roles just to appeal to the pan-Indian market.

Though Nani has been trying to establish a foothold in the Hindi market, major success has eluded him so far.

In response, he appears to be doubling down on darker themes and intense action in films like Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and HIT 3. His next project, The Paradise, is reportedly even more mass-oriented and violence-heavy.

Big-budget films like Pushpa 2, KGF, and RRR have seen massive success in North India, largely due to their high-octane action.

Nani clearly seems to be eyeing similar traction, though he insists the violence in his films stems from the demands of the story — not from commercial strategy.

But the real question is — who’s buying that?
