Major Will Celebrate Sandeep Unnikrishnan's Life: Sesh

12 years ago, on Nov 27, 2008, NSG Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan lost his life saving visitors and staff at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Hotel during the terror attacks.

Adivi Sesh, who portrays the martyr in his biopic titled Major, speaks about his humble attempt in finding the spirit of Major Sandeep within himself through an emotional video.

“I found the iconic passport photograph of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan from his parents. He was simply trying not to smile. When he took the passport picture, he had the big wide smile, and then the photographer cautioned him not to smile.

So, the lips were hiding his smile. But, that madness and spirit were shining through his eyes, and I think that’s what captivated me and captivated I think most of India, that picture is very iconic,” says Sesh.

He then informed that Sandeep’s father initially didn’t believe that someone was doing research on his son’s life for past 10 years.

Sesh met the martyr’s parents four times and he could at last convince them. “Sandeep’s mother told me she could see her son in me,” said he adding, “The film speaks about the way he lived, not about the way he died.

The video also sees Adivi Sesh’s training for the character and his look test to resemble Major Sandeep.

They revealed to unveiled first look of the film on December 17th.

Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies.

The film is all set for a 2021 summer release.
