Major: Good opening in Telugu, very poor in Hindi

Released amid huge expectations, Adivi Sesh’s biographical Pan India film Major received encouraging reports from critics and audience alike.

Major has nailed in on its first day in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, but movie could hardly make a mark in any other state.

Most shocking though is the paltry opening of Major in the Hindi belt after the glowing word-of-mouth it received from all its preview shows across the North circuit.

While the film's box office numbers are lesser than expected, it minted a total amount of Rs 96 lakh(Rs 55 lakh distributor share) on its first day in bollywood.

The film is off to good start at the box office in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as it grossed 6.10 Crore(Rs 4 crore distributor share) in its opening day, which is highest for the actor.

Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and the story is written by Adivi Sesh. The film features Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murali Sharma in pivotal roles.

The film is jointly produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies. Major was released in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam
