Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, Bobby Deol, and Nidhhi Agerwal, has witnessed a dramatic fall at the Indian box office on its second day, turning its promising start into a major disappointment.
While the film enjoyed a strong opening, thanks to Pawan Kalyan’s star power and significant pre-sales, the momentum came to a crashing halt on Friday (July 25), a regular working day.
Despite positive initial bookings and a solid day-one performance driven by fan frenzy and over-the-counter ticket sales, the content failed to resonate with the wider audience.
Negative reviews and mixed word-of-mouth were expected to affect the film’s collections, but the extent of the drop has shocked many in the trade.
On day 2, Hari Hara Veera Mallu collected only ₹8 crore, as per Sacnilk, marking a steep 76.97% fall from its day-one total of ₹34.75 crore (excluding premiere shows).
The film’s total Indian box office net after two days stands at ₹55.5 crore, including ₹12.75 crore from premieres. When adjusted for GST, the gross collection amounts to ₹65.49 crore.
This sharp decline has resulted in an unfortunate milestone for Pawan Kalyan, as the film now holds the record for the actor’s lowest second-day collection in the post-COVID era.
For comparison, his previous post-COVID releases performed significantly better on their second day, with Bheemla Nayak earning ₹19.73 crore and Bro bringing in ₹17.05 crore. In contrast, Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s ₹8 crore haul reflects a major setback.
It’s important to note that Vakeel Saab has not been included in this comparison, as it was released before the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
