Filmmaker Karan Johar's dramatic weight loss has been the subject of much discussion, with the director consistently denying the use of Ozempic or other weight loss drugs.
However, his latest photo with stand-up comedian Samay Raina has reignited concern online, as fans noted his noticeably thin appearance.
The image, shared on the popular Reddit forum BollyBlindsNGossip, led many to speculate whether the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director is experiencing side effects from drastic weight loss methods.
One Reddit user commented, “Ozempic side effects. He’s shrinking and aging faster than expected. Just look at Ram Kapoor after his sudden weight loss—his face looks drained and shriveled, like he’s been soaked in water.”
Another user added, “He looked so much better earlier. I don’t understand this obsession with becoming super thin.”
A third user wrote, “I hope he’s okay. It’s just him and his mother taking care of his kids.”
Karan Johar, who lives with his mother Hiroo Johar and twins Yash and Roohi (born via surrogacy), has previously addressed these concerns.
In a podcast with Raj Shamani in May, the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham director attributed his transformation to the One Meal A Day (OMAD) diet.
“I’ve always battled with my weight. I’ve tried hundreds of diets and workouts, but nothing worked. After doing some blood tests and understanding my thyroid issues, I found something that finally worked for me. People keep asking, ‘Are you on Ozempic or Mounjaro?’ I’m tired of it. They don’t know the truth, and I don’t feel the need to share it,” he said. “I feel healthy, I feel lighter, and at 52, I’ve never felt more confident in my skin.”
