Dil Raju: I Lost Money On Those Two Films

Producer Dil Raju agreed that his Bollywood ventures have brought him nothing but losses.

Speaking to the media, he said the pandemic era was the reason why his calculations went wrong.

“When we launched “Jersey” in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor, we thought we could make Rs 30 crore profit on it. Shahid Kapoor just delivered a massive hit with ‘Kabir Singh’, and our film was a red hot project.

Due to COVID-19, we postponed the film many times and the Bollywood theatrical market was not ready for such content-based flicks yet. Forget about making profits, we lost four to five crores,” he revealed.

Dil Raju’s second Hindi production, HIT, starring Raj Kumar Rao collected just about Rs 6 Cr nett in the first weekend. The film is also heading for a flop.

“Normally, Rajkumar Rao’s films would collect Rs 15 crore in the first weekend. But the case is different now. We will lose money, but not that much on HIT,” he added.
