Producer Dil Raju has received a big jolt. His recent Hindi productions - Jersey and Hit – bombed like anything. Now, he is in for another shock.
“Thank You”, produced by Dil Raju and directed by Vikram Kumar, received the lowest ever opening in Naga Chaitanya’s career.
The film has raked in just Rs 1.50 crore share from AP and Telangana. The entire Ceded region contributed just Rs 20 lakh.
Strangely, Dil Raju even conducted paid previews in a couple of centers in Andhra Pradesh a day before the release but skipped the same in Hyderabad.
Sources say the film’s team felt that the paid previews will help generate good buzz. But it backfired. The negative talk spread from there itself.
Dil Raju must fire the team that gave such silly ideas.
And Naga Chaitanya must be feeling bad that his film received such the lowest opening.
Even Rana’s “Virata Parvam”, which was a disaster at the box office, opened better than “Thank You”.
