Day 2: Manchu's Film Earns Rs 7 Cr on Saturday

Kannappa, the mythological Telugu-language film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and written by lead actor Vishnu Manchu, continued its steady run at the box office on its first Saturday.

After earning ₹9.35 crore on its opening day, early estimates suggest the film collected ₹7 crore on Day 2, taking its total domestic gross to approximately ₹16.35 crore.

Despite a slight dip in collections, the film maintained consistent footfall across regions, particularly in Telugu-speaking areas where it recorded an impressive 44.42% occupancy on Saturday. Morning shows began with a healthy 27% and peaked at 58.54% by night.

In Tamil Nadu, Kannappa registered an overall occupancy of 19.84% on Saturday, with stronger numbers during the afternoon (23.41%) and night (27.68%) shows.

Even without a direct Tamil cultural connection, the film attracted audiences, thanks to its star-studded cast and universally appealing mythological narrative.

The Hindi version showed encouraging signs with a 17.37% occupancy rate, especially picking up during the evening and night slots, where it neared 29%.

In Malayalam-speaking regions, however, the film saw a lukewarm response, with a modest 5.81% overall occupancy that showed only minor increases in later shows.

Kannappa tells the story of a tribal hunter who becomes one of Lord Shiva’s most devoted followers.

Vishnu Manchu plays the titular role, supported by an ensemble cast that includes Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Preity Mukhundhan, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmaji, and Brahmanandam.

The film also features cameo appearances by stars like Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal.

Released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, Kannappa continues its theatrical run as a strong contender in the mythological action-drama space, with promising weekend prospects.
