Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna have often clashed at the box office during the Sankranthi season.

Now, it looks like the two stars may face off once again during the Sankranthi festival in 2026.
It is already known that Chiranjeevi’s next film, directed by Anil Ravipudi, is slated for a Sankranthi release.
Ravipudi is known to be particularly sentimental about this festival. The shoot is expected to begin soon and will be wrapped up within seven months to ensure a Pongal 2026 release.
The latest buzz suggests that director Boyapati Sreenu is considering shifting the release of Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, from September 2025 to January 2026.
With the #NTRNeel film postponed to June, there’s now an open slot for Sankranthi — and Boyapati reportedly wants to seize the opportunity.
