Case Study: Limitations Of AHA OTT

AHA OTT was started with an idea to entertain the Telugu audience exclusively. When all the successful platforms around are designed to reach the global audience, AHA has limited itself to play the local game.

There is nothing wrong in that.

But the key decision maker of the content on this platform happens to be a North Indian. How can such position be given to a non local person when the game is local?

Adding to that the story writers are being insisted to come up with bold and adult rated elements in the script.

Probably, the taste of the Telugu audience might have been underestimated by the North Indian team head in the office of AHA.

The platform failed to win the hearts of family audience.

Sources say that the stories relating to wife swapping, illegal affairs and adultery have been in line to release on the platform. Recently, the Metro Kathalu has come up with wide publicity rising some expectations. But even that is topped with stripping scenes and one night sexual trysts. Above all, the entire film turned out to be a pointless watch.

Allu Aravind, who pins ample focus on the selection of films on Geeta Arts might not be spending that much of time on AHA. Otherwise, content will not be like this, say many.

The platform desperately needs a talented local guy who can really understand the entertainment needs of the Telugu audience on OTT.

To increase the subscribers to this platform, apart from content selection, steps should be taken to release the films of range Vakeel Saab, Krack and Red on it. Otherwise, reaching their subscription count to make a break even becomes a wild goose chase.
