Can 'Mirai' Cross 'Hanu-Man' Record?

Can 'Mirai' Cross 'Hanu-Man' Record?

The film Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, has become a big talking point in Indian cinema. In just three days, it earned a massive Rs 81.2 crore worldwide, a huge number for an actor considered outside the top league.

The movie’s performance has surprised trade circles as it did well not only in Telugu states but also in overseas markets.

In North America, it grossed $1.6 million and is close to the $2M mark, while in the Hindi belt it collected Rs 10 crore, an unusual achievement for a non top-tier Telugu hero.

Now it stepped into week day test. The collections need to be sustaining to see this film in higher bracket.

Teja Sajja, earlier seen as a “tier-2 hero,” has broken industry expectations by gaining pan-India appeal.

After the success of HanuMan, many thought it was a one-time hit, but Mirai has proved otherwise, cementing his position as a rising star.

However, the film’s run is not equally strong everywhere. Collections in Hindi are only a third of Telugu earnings, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam markets remain underwhelming.

Despite this, Mirai is a safe breakeven venture, though its numbers are not at the level of other record-breaking pan-Indian blockbusters.

Hanu-Man, the earlier pan-India film starring Teja Sajja made a gross of Rs 300 Cr+. Will 'Mirai' touch that figure is a question now.
