Brahmin Controversy In Anchor Suma's Film?

Brahmin Controversy In Anchor Suma's Film?

Popular anchor Suma is known for her sense of humor and spoof videos. She is loved by many Telugu people for the way she handles the audio events with her wit and spontaneity.

Now she is coming up in a serious role with the film 'Jayamma Panchayathi'. No one knows what factor appealed to her the most to do this film. The trailer of the same is released today.

The content in the trailer conveys that it is a serious village movie, but a scene in it catches the attention.

A girl asks a guy, "Is there any caste feeling in your village?"

To this the guy replies, "They gave me the temple duties even after knowing that I am a scoundrel, just because I'm from the Brahmin caste".

Though there is no direct controversy in this bit, the direct reference to the caste name in a disgraceful context may hit the 'manobhavalu' of a few.

In another shot, Suma reprimands a boy saying- "Show your face here again and I will cut your bell off", pointing him down.

This is another bit that shocks the audience seeing Suma delivering this dialogue.

On the whole, the trailer promises nothing new but a village drama. It has to be seen if this can hold the interest of the audience after release. This film is scheduled to release on 6th May.
