Some social-media channels claim that Akhanda 2 sold 3 crore tickets in Hyderabad alone, a number many people immediately found unbelievable.
After all, Hyderabad’s population is around 1 crore, making the claim mathematically impossible from the start.
Even if one considers the total number of theatres and seats in the city, it is clear that not everyone watches a premiere show, nor can capacity magically multiply overnight.
Yet, a few overenthusiastic fans and promotion pages continue to push this exaggerated figure without hesitation, ignoring how unrealistic it sounds.
As a result, the claim itself has turned into a running joke online. Many feel such baseless, over-the-top propaganda harms the film’s image rather than helping it.
For others, the sheer absurdity makes it entertaining, and that may be the very reason these inflated numbers are being pushed to go viral through shock value.
However, the fact is that not all theatres screening the premieres turned houseful. Many screens filled only 50% or even less for the paid premieres.
