August Box Office: Two Hits and Many Misses!

August Box Office: Two Hits and Many Misses!

August 2018 was an eventful one with a couple of surprise hits. Adivi Sesh's Goodachari made him a bankable actor and Geetha Govindam's success made Vijay Deverakonda a big star.

This August also had witnessed two successful films, but there are so many misses and some forgettable duds among notable films.

Rakshasudu starring Bellamkonda Srinivas turned out to be a sleeper hit and has given a big relief to the actor who has been running through lean phase. It is a faithful remake of Tamil hit Ratsasan and got the thumbs up from thriller fans.

Manmadhudu 2 featuring Nagarjuna and directed by Rahul Ravindran has irked family audience with its adult content and ended up as a forgettable flop for the King.

With Saaho getting pushed to August 30, two notable films released on Independence Day and made the most of the holiday release.

However, Sharwanand's Ranarangam directed by Sudheer Varma failed miserably leaving a huge hole in the pockets of its buyers and makers.

Evaru starring Adivi Sesh has impressed target audience and has become the biggest hit in the actor's career.

Kausalya Krishnamurthy that arrived just a week ahead of Saaho failed to impress with its insipid content and poor making values.

Besides the above mentioned films, there were more than a dozen small movies that came out and got blown away without any trace.

The much awaited Saaho was out in theaters from Aug 30. The box office verdict of the film yet to be determined but the film opened to disappointing reviews and thumping collections.

The film's content hasn't lived up to expectations but Prabhas is currently doing justice to his post-Baahubali stardom.
