She revealed her difficult pregnancy at 39, sharing how a sudden bacterial infection, possibly caused by appendix surgery, nearly took her and her baby's lives.
By the sixth month, she experienced internal bleeding and sepsis, prompting an emergency delivery.
Her son, Avyaan, was born weighing just 810 grams and was rushed to the NICU. Within 36 hours, he underwent life-saving surgery due to a hole in his intestine.
Doctors had to create a stoma, exposing part of his intestine outside the body. Dia stayed on IV antibiotics for weeks while pleading for her baby’s survival.
She described the emotional trauma of being unable to hold her baby during COVID, visiting him only twice a week. When she finally brought him home, she managed his care herself.
After gaining enough weight, Avyaan underwent another surgery to correct the stoma and is now recovering well.
