Aamir Khan recently introduced a pay-per-view model for his films, offering them on his official YouTube channel for Rs 100 per rental. However, users on Apple devices reported being charged Rs 179 instead.
Responding promptly, Aamir Khan Productions issued an apology, assuring fans they were working to fix the price discrepancy.
The initiative marks a shift in how Aamir’s films will reach audiences — he has chosen not to release them on major OTT platforms like Netflix or Prime Video.
Instead, films will be accessible on his YouTube channel at a low cost, viewable for 48 hours after rental.
Aamir explained that this move aims to bring people back to theatres while also making cinema more affordable and available across the country.
He also announced plans to support new filmmakers by giving them space on the channel, helping them bypass traditional theatrical release challenges.
Additionally, his popular TV series Satyamev Jayate will be uploaded on the platform free of cost at a later stage.
