Producer Suresh Babu is a shrewd businessman. He knows how to close deals.
The proof is that he made good profits from Venkatesh’s two upcoming movies – “Narappa” and “Drushyam 2”.
Suresh Babu produced these movies in association with other production houses. “Narappa” was sold for Amazon for a direct-OTT release for a whopping Rs 40 crore.
Additionally, the producers can get money from satellite rights. It is doubtful whether they would get such money from the theaters in the prevailing conditions.
Moreover, it is not a straight Telugu film, a remake of the acclaimed Tamil movie.
Disney+Hotstar has bagged “Drushyam 2” entire rights – satellite, digital, direct-OTT. The film has fetched the producers 36 crores.
It was a superb deal considering its production cost. “Drushyam 2” was entirely completed in just one month. "Drushyam 2" is also a remake of the Malayalam film.
