Akhanda 2 has delivered a strong performance on television, registering better premiere ratings than The Raja Saab.
The latest numbers once again prove Nandamuri Balakrishna’s solid popularity among TV audiences, especially Telugu viewers.
Both films had generated good hype before their television premieres due to their star power and theatrical buzz.
However, the final TRP figures show that Akhanda 2 managed to gain a slight edge over The Raja Saab in its small-screen debut.
As per reports, The Raja Saab, which was telecast on Maa TV, recorded a TRP of around 5.02 in urban markets and nearly 4.40 across urban and rural belts combined.
On the other hand, Akhanda 2, which premiered on Zee Telugu, reportedly registered around 5.59 TRP in urban markets and 4.54 across urban and rural belts combined.
Though the difference is not huge, it is still a clear win for Akhanda 2 in the TRP battle.
Balakrishna’s loyal television audience and the film’s mass commercial appeal played a major role in pulling viewers.
The film’s action-packed narration, mixed with devotional elements, also seems to have connected well with family audiences on television.
While Akhanda 2 performed better on TV, The Raja Saab still had strong curiosity because of Prabhas and its horror-comedy backdrop.
At the box office, Akhanda 2 collected an estimated Rs 94.5 crore net in its lifetime run, translating to around Rs 111.51 crore gross.
The Raja Saab, meanwhile, closed with around Rs 146.04 crore net and Rs 172.32 crore gross. However, both films ended up as box office disappointments.
The latest TRP outcome shows that Balakrishna’s films continue to enjoy strong support on television.
While box office trends may change from film to film, Akhanda 2 has clearly won the small-screen battle against The Raja Saab.
