Shocking Remuneration: Rs 6.5 Lakh+GST Per Song

Shocking Remuneration: Rs 6.5 Lakh+GST Per Song

It's all the matter of stardom and how the artistes handle it intelligently.

We all know the legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam who used to charge not more than Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 Lakh per song as the highest ever in his career. No South Indian singer had crossed that limit so far.

These days the name Sid Sriram has been ringing in the chartbusters list ever since 'Inkem Inkem Kaavaale' from Geeta Govindam.

His eventual saga has brought him many hits to his credit and his 'Samajavaragamana...' from Ala Vaikunthapuramulo stood on the top of all with millions of views only on youtube.

This Chennai based singer who is also famous with other songs like Matevinaduga, Undiporadhey, Nuvvunte na jathaga, Vacchindamma, Adiga Adiga has agreed to sing a song for "Varudu Kavalenu" of Naga Shourya which is being made on the banner of Sithara Entertainments.

Sources say that he is charging a whopping Rs 6.5 Lakh plus GST. He flies down to Hyderabad and sings for Vishal Chandrasekhar's tune and flies back on the same day.

There is a saying- 'make hay while Sun shines'. This is a lesson for many talented singers who fear that they lose offers by upgrading themselves with respect to remuneration.

The average remuneration for any Hyderabad based popular singer ranges between Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000. Even the most popular Anurag Kulkarni charges not more than Rs 1 lakh, say sources.

What makes a singer big? The talent? The success? or the remuneration he commands wisely? The answer is, a right blend of all the three. Sid Sriram has it in him.
