Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been released to mixed reviews. While some viewers said it was outright disappointing, others called it average.
However, one common criticism from almost everyone has been about the poor quality of CG (visual effects) in the second half.
The big question is — how did such subpar CG shots make it to the final cut?
According to reliable sources, some CG work wasn’t completed on time. Meanwhile, it was already time to dispatch overseas prints. Delays were becoming unavoidable, so the team had no choice but to send the available version to international markets.
They initially planned to attach improved CG to Indian prints, but even that couldn’t be done in time for the premieres. As a result, the same incomplete overseas version was screened in India as well.
The damage was already done.
Now, what's next? Reports suggest that the team is deleting some poorly executed scenes — especially the much-criticized horse-riding sequence.
A few other corrections are also being made, mostly in the second half, which attracted the most complaints. The team believes that fixing these parts will significantly improve the film’s reception.
The updated version is expected to be available by Friday during one of the showtimes, hoping to draw audiences back to theaters.
