For any film, the first Monday is a crucial test. If the drop is not huge, it means the film will have long legs to sustain at the box office. That is what happened with Yash and Prashanth Neel’s “KGF Chapter 2”.
The Hindi version’s run is beyond expectations. The trade pundits are stunned at seeing the film’s performance on a non-holiday Monday.
“KGF Chapter 2” raked in about Rs 23 crore net on Monday. At this rate, the action drama will close the first week with Rs 260 crore nett.
In Telugu states, it has seen a noticeable drop in collections on Monday. But the collections in Telangana are strong and it has reached near Rs 30 crore (share) mark.
In the USA, the film has collected approximately $230k (all languages).
On the whole, the film has passed the Monday test with flying colors.
