Nani and Sudheer Babu starrer “V” hit the screens today on the occasion of New Year 2021. But the film has failed to take bumper openings despite the holiday.
“V” had already streamed on Amazon Prime in September last year. The film received a lukewarm response from the critics and audiences when it premiered on the OTT platform.
As the theaters got reopened, producer Dil Raju released it in the theaters, hoping that the audiences who have not watched it on the OTT platform might come to the cinema halls.
On the first day, the film could not attract audiences. At many centers, the Nani starrer action thriller garnered 40 percent of collections of Sai Tej’s “Solo Brathuke So Better”.
Nani’s “V” is underperforming in the theaters as well. Directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna, the revenge drama has no novelty factor in its story or treatment.
