Three for Jana Sena, one for BJP in Naidu cabinet

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has shown the complete dominance over his cabinet to be sworn in at 11.27 am at Kesarapalli near Gannavaram airport on Wednesday.

Contrary to the expectations, Naidu allocated only three berths to the Jana Sena Party, including deputy chief minister post to Pawan Kalyan, and only one berth to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 24-member cabinet which was announced at around 1.15 am last night.

Apart from Pawan Kalyan, the Jana Sena Party representatives in the cabinet are: Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh. On behalf of the BJP, only Y Satya Kumar will be sworn in as the minister.

Naidu has kept one berth vacant, after intense bargaining with BJP national leaders – Union home minister Amit Shah and national BJP president J P Nadda at his Undavalli residence late on Tuesday night.

According to the TDP sources, Naidu sought to maintain a perfect balance between experienced leaders and new comers, besides maintaining regional, caste and gender balance in the formation of the cabinet.

Out of 24 ministers, 17 are the new comers. The cabinet includes three women, eight Backward Class leaders, two SCs, one ST and one Muslim. Among the OCs, four Kapus, four Kammas, three Reddys and one Vysya were accommodated.

As expected, Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh has been given the berth in the cabinet. Two leaders who defected from the YSR Congress party before the elections – Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and Kolusu Parthasarathy were also accommodated in the cabinet.

Surprisingly, there is no place for seniors like Kanna Lakshminarayana, Ganta Srinivas Rao, Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy.
