The story of Priya Restaurant is well known in Chicago Land area - four house wives came up with an idea to start a restaurant that serves authentic and original Indian dishes.
Starting a restaurant business is one thing and keeping up the original concept of serving authentic, original and bold dishes even after 15 years is another thing, which Priya has managed successfully.
Priya has several firsts to its credit – introducing authentic South-Indian dishes like Ulavacharu, Gutti Vankaya, Allam Pachadi, Gongura Mamsam to the Chicago land and starting the concept of “Dosa Nights” which is now adopted by many restaurants all over the US.
Priya Dosa Nights with 64 varieties of Dosa and Tiffins buffet still remains unmatched and are very popular with the Vegan, Vegetarian and Jain cuisine lovers.
Since the humble beginnings at 939 W Wise Rd, Schaumburg, IL, Priya has started its second location at Vernon Hills, IL in 2015 with a completely new concept of Fast Casual Indian Restaurant more suited for the Millennials.
Now Priya has started its third location at 645 E Algonquin Rd, Schaumburg, IL - next to the popular Indian Grocer Vishnu. This location is conveniently located to the families living in and around International Village and close to the new business district anchored by Zurich.
Keeping in mind the preferences of Gen Z, this new location serves authentic Indian dishes in an express setup. Priya Express serves the Indian food in a fast-casual atmosphere keeping the original concept of serving authentic, original and bold Indian dishes of Priya Restaurant intact.
Priya Express menu is carefully curated and serves 9 varieties of Biryani including Hyderabad Dum Biryanis and Talapakattu Biryani, 64 varieties of Dosa, Popular Street food, Indo Chinese, Snacks and Tiffins, Tandoor and Kabobs and ready to eat Curry Combos with a choice of 10 Veg and Non-Veg Entrees.
The new dishes to try out include Kakinada Tandoori Fish, Vankaya Bajji Chaat, Royyala Boondi Vepudu and Masala Fries.
Summarizing the motto behind Priya, the founders and the managing partners of Priya Mrs. Bhagyarekha Sappa and Mrs. Sujani Kuchipudi asserted “eating out should not be associated with guilt or a bad after-taste or a heavy stomach, eating-out should be nostalgic and one meal should be satisfying and make you come back again and again for another!”
