North American Telugu Association(NATA) NEW YORK team completed one more successful event, Grand Finale of First "NATA - TLCA NEWYORK CRICKET CUP -2013", enthralled over 500 audience with wonderful cricketing action on this Saturday June 22, many sixes and fours fashioned a cricket festival at the Long Island Cantiague Park.
“ScieGen Strikers” Emerged as the 2013 Champions, This tournament complemented NATA’s intentions for the youth, NATA is conducting more sporting events throughout North America for insight please visit WWW.NATAUS.ORG.
The day started with Semi finals, both the semis truly enthralled as the teams went on “AmericaRX-Flushing Falcons” remained as runner ups, Falcons played well but end of the day one team had to win.
The Grand Finale was very colorful, augmenting to the playing some superb Cricket.
Final match was action packed till last minute; with an awesome performance “ScieGenStrikers” clinched the 2013 Championship.
Opening ceremony that happened on June 15th. NATA/TLCA kids did a parade and great Cheerleading performances during the Awards Presentation, kids were excited and audience had a great joy. Chief Guest Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla Presented the Championship Cup and runners-up Cup, amidst the jubilant cricket fans.
Kids and volunteers received Trophies as well.
Awards ceremony started with a note by Sridhar Reddy Kumbala (NATA RVP NY), on behalf of NATA and the organizing committee NY RVP thanked Grand Sponsor of the event Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla, all the partipating teams, attendees of event, media people and last but the not the least NATA NY TEAM (that worked relentlessly ensuring a grand tournament).
Later Dr. Malla Reddy addressed the gathering at the occasion; NATA Advisory Council Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla applauded the hard work of NATA NY team, for the success of this event. He advised to take up more community service events, He congratulated the winners and runners-up.
Dr. Malla Reddy is a well known Telugu community leader and a generous donor for the community events. Later Jayaprakash Enjapuri administered the presentation ceremony
The winners and runner up trophies were presented by Dr. Malla Reddy and other Local dignitaries, Trinad Rayana of Sciegen Strikers was awarded with Best Bowler and Parag of Sriven Sizzlers was awarded best batsman of the tournament.. NY Team thanked President Dr.Sanjeeva Reddy Garu, NATA Advisory council, Executive committee and other leaders for their support.
Organizing committee consisted of Vikram Reddy Janagam (BOD), Sridhar Reddy Kumbala (RVP), Jayaprakash Enjapuri (RC) and Prabhu Goud (RC). Chinababu Reddy (BOD) , Narasimha reddy Tangutoori, Linga Reddy and Ranjeeth Reddy have provided other logistical support and stood behind the cause. Event was attended Rajeshwar Reddy (BOD) Ravi Kondabolu (CS) and many other NATA leaders.
