Covid-19 Vaccination: No Demand From Health Workers

Covid-19 Vaccination: No Demand From Health Workers

India is prepared to give vaccination to the entire population in phase wise. First it started with the frontline workers in healthcare and sanitation department.

But surprisingly, there is no demand or attention from the public, even from the healthcare department. The response has been pretty low in many states.

Here are the percentage of beneficiaries turning up for vaccines state wise.

- Punjab (27.9%)
- Puducherry (34.6%)
- Tamil Nadu (34.9%)

When the healthcare department is responding like this, we can understand the level of doubts and suspicions surrounding vaccines.

Onthe contrary the healthcare workers in some states are responding well and getting the vaccine shots. Here are the statistics.

- Lakshadweep (89.3%)
- Sikkim (85.7%)
- Odisha (82.6%)

Government is giving two brands of vaccines- Covishield of Serum Institute and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech.

Many of the healthcare workers and doctors are in 'wait and watch' mode. Depending on the reports after two weeks from the beneficiaries, they may decide to take the shots.

Many of the Covid warriors who developed antibodies are confidently deciding to avoid the vaccine for ever.
