Beware Of H1B Multiple Registrations Fraud

Nothing is official yet, but the USA seems to be in the process of filtering the junk. Many of the foreigners after completing their education in the USA apply for the H1B Visa to settle down with a job.

Majority of the applications are identified as multiple registrations with an intentional fraud to increase the strike rate of getting the visa in the H1B Lottery. As per the data the FY 2023 has received a whopping 484,000 H1B Registrations.

One needs to know how the cases are identified as fraud or genuine.

Suppose, you have an offer from JP Morgan and another one from Goldmann Sachs. When both these companies file H1B for you, both are considered genuine. But the problem comes with the IT Body Shops which function as middlemen in obtaining the job for an individual from a company. Majority of such companies are filing fake H1B Visas against a bribe to increase the chances for the candidates in getting the visa.

Now the system is getting sensitized following a petition filed by an attorney in the USA. If everything gets streamlined the punishment for this offence would be deporting the candidates back to their homelands and can be barred from entering the USA permanently. Strict action will be taken against the owners of such IT Body shop companies which may lead to imprisonment for misrepresentation.

So, one needs to be careful in fulfilling the dollar dreams. Shortcuts may attract serious repercussions.
