“NRIs Must Give Back to Society: Mahesh Bigala Leads by Example” - ZPHS Makloor transformed into a model government school through NRI initiative.
The newly constructed “Sri Bigala Krishna Murthy ZPHS Makloor” and “Sri Bigala Gangaram MPPS Makloor” schools were inaugurated today by Telangana Government Advisor Sri Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Rajya Sabha Member Sri K.R. Suresh Reddy, and Armur MLA Sri Paidi Rakesh Reddy.
The Telangana Government sanctioned ₹4.70 crores for this project. In addition, Mr. Mahesh Bigala, a proud former student of ZPHS Makloor, contributed ₹1 crore officially and an additional ₹1.5 crores through contractors to build state-of-the-art school infrastructure comparable to that of a corporate institution.
The school complex, spread over 28,000 square feet, includes 20 classrooms, 7 laboratories, a library, a dining hall, modern toilets, and a compound wall, making it one of the best government schools in the State of Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mahesh Bigala expressed his deep sense of happiness and pride, saying, “Today, I feel proud and blessed to inaugurate schools named after my father, Sri Bigala Krishna Murthy garu, and my grandfather, Sri Bigala Gangaram garu, here in Makloor.”
He stated that, responding to the call given by Hon’ble Former Minister Sri K.T. Rama Rao garu, he decided to adopt and rebuild the school.
“When I requested the then Hon’ble Chief Minister to rebuild the dilapidated school, he sanctioned ₹4.70 crores. In addition, I personally contributed ₹1 crore officially and spent another ₹1.5 crores for the remaining development works.”
Mahesh Bigala also recalled his father’s passion for education. “My father always valued education highly and constantly encouraged students. I took this initiative to inspire other NRIs to participate in similar efforts.”
Through the Sri Bigala Krishna Murthy Foundation, he announced that scholarships and incentives will continue to be provided to meritorious students of both the Polytechnic College and the ZPHS Makloor.
Former MLA Sri Bigala Ganesh Gupta spoke about his family’s long-standing contributions to the educational development of Makloor village. He expressed pride that he, his brother, and his sister all studied in the same school in Telugu medium.
Ganesh Gupta also appreciated his brother Mahesh Bigala, who, as the BRS Party NRI Coordinator, responded to KTR garu’s appeal during their visit to the United States, adopting the school and contributing significantly to the development of the village.
The dignitaries appreciated the Bigala family for transforming Makloor’s schools into modern, model institutions and commended Mahesh Bigala for setting a shining example for other NRIs by giving back to his village and supporting the cause of education.
