Hyderabad: YSRCP members YV Subbareddy and Somayajulu met Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Mahender Reddy and lodged a formal complaint against indecent comments and hate campaign launched against YSRCP leader Sharmila on internet.
Later, speaking to media persons, YV Subbareddy disclosed that he sought immediate action by police against miscreants who were involved in inundating the internet with indecent comments against Sharmila in the past few days.
Subbareddy had said that some of the comments were in bad taste and quite embarrassing. He expressed anguish that nearly 20-25 websites were involved in such indecent activities targeting Sharmila.
Subbareddy further added that Sharmila was subject to such vitiated campaign for standing by her brother through his ordeal. He said that he had requested the CP to take strict action against the culprits and revealed that Mahender Reddy had promised to take immediate steps under the Cyber Act.
Meanwhile, two youth were arrested by CCS Cyber Police on Friday for making indecent comments and uploading morphed pictures of Sharmila on the Net.
One person was identified as web designer Sripati Naresh from Amberpet’s Shankar Nagar, while the other youth was identified as Karthik who hails from Hanmakonda in Warangal district. The above mentioned along with two other friends resorted to such indecent behavior about three months back. At that time, YSRCP had complained to the police.
Accordingly, CCS police had arrested a person last month and have now taken Naresh and Karthik into custody. Another suspect is missing and the hunt is on for him, said CCS DCP Palaraju on Friday.
