Hyderabad: The hide-and-seek between Chandrababu Naidu and the government employees in Hyderabad over shifting to Amaravati continued long enough until the government employees made a blunder. They went and met Daggubati Purandeswari in the hope that she could get them an extension in Hyderabad.
Now, Purandeswari and Naidu are sworn enemies and naturally, Naidu flew into a rage and threatened the government staff with transfers if they did not shift to Amaravati.
Fearful of Naidu's wrath, the staff agreed to shift to Amaravati. But what approach will Naidu take in the case of 250 IAS officers who have also been asked to relocate to Amaravati?
Apparently, the IAS officers are not too keen on Amaravati as there is no clarity on accommodation from the government. They have been told to rent places in either Vijayawada or Guntur.
At present, these officers in Hyderabad are given HRA by the AP government which is paid to Telangana. The officers want to leave behind their families until they get suitable housing in Amaravati in which case, the government will either pay for them in Amaravati or Hyderabad. Will it pay for both the residences? There is no clarity on the issue.
Therefore, the IAS offers are keen on putting off the transfers to Amaravati by as much time as possible.
What will Naidu do in that case? Surely, he will not adopt an aggressive stance towards the iam officers too?
